"The Secret That Harms"

So, I have been wanting & thinking about doing a photoshoot like this. Because its something that is very real. And happens to alot of kids. Child Abuse- It happened to me, when I was younger. Not by any family member. But by people who my parents would leave me with, like one babysitter, a preschool teacher and so on. So, it has happened to me. I wanted to capture the emotions, the fear, the sadness. The brutal truth, that this does happen, and most of the time, people never know, until its too late. It happens. And these photos, my nephew & my make-up, helps to deliver the right feeling, of realism & reality.

Children are abused every day, left alone in a room to cry and wonder why, But not the child in this photo. I am very surprised, at how realistic I got these photos to look. And how much of an amazing model my nephew Matty really is. He really pulled the right emotions out, like wow. It really looks like he is an abused child. He takes direction really well, and thats why I got inspired to finally do this shoot. Appyling the make-up took about 20minutes tops. And I put vasline under his eyes, to help make it look like he is crying, and then used an eye dropper to put a few water drops on his cheeks for tears that haven't dried yet. It was very easy. And inbetween photos, he would laugh and tell me ideas that he had for the next shots.

When I was editing them, I looked at one, and almost cried...and I KNOW I did the make-up, and I took it all off with a baby wipe...so I guess that tells me how strong these photos really are. That I hit realistic & truth on the head. Lol.

So, I really hope you all like these, and understand what I meant to do with these photos. What I wanted to show.
